O estudo lida com a identidade do oitavo rei de Apocalipse 17. O autor procura ampliar a discussão já existente, sugerindo novos elementos para a discussão do tópico. Ele destaca a recapitulação da cena de Apocalipse 17:12-14 em Apocalipse 19:11-21. Fato amplamente aceito pelos estudiosos do livro, contudo, pouco explorado em muitas interpretações da identidade do oitavo rei. O autor, então, sugere que Apocalipse 19, especialmente, os versículos 19 e 20, pode constituir as lentes contextuais e literárias pelas quais a identidade desse símbolo pode ser interpretada. O trabalho está dividido em duas partes. Na primeira, o autor discute exegeticamente Apocalipse 17, com o foco no oitavo rei. Em seguida, apresenta razões pelas quais Apocalipse 19:11-21 recapitula Apocalipse 17:12-14. O resultado é a sugestão de que a figura do oitavo rei se refere ao retorno da sétima cabeça, após a cura da ferida mortal. Portanto, a besta de Apocalipse 17:11 é identificada como outra fase da besta do mar de Apocalipse 13:1-10.
